never veen in court before but its over the stupid law of parking in a bay showing a ticket and not leaving your car and congregating(sp)
£75+costs
im pleading not guilty because i never had the time to get a ticket and i wasnt congregating
in the 1st hearing when you give your plea do they ask you lots of questions or is it just a thing of my name and not guilty and the solicitor handles the rest ?

They'll ask you why you didn't pay it.
They'll ask about your background and why you haven't paid it.
They'll ask you, have you got any relatives to pay the fee if you cannot afford it.
Just be polite, face up to the charges.
Take the duty solicitor aswell, they're free. Plus they're there to help.
Hope everything goes alright mate

Dress smart & be polite, impressing the judge & showing him your not some boy racer delinquent will go a long way in this case. Hopefully it will get thrown out of court, the charges are laughable!!

Surely the definition of parking doesnt include the need for the driver the leave the vehicle? And did the area where you 'parked' specifiy that you HAVE to leave your car in order for the parking to be legal?
If so then what do you call it when a driver stops in their car for a while for whatever reason?

Dress smart and be polite, dont blame you for going to court by the sounds of this. You will have to justify why you were stood around or whatever you were doing but I dont think that should be too hard. Maybe explain you werent causing a nuisance which is what that law was put in to stop?
The magistrates are normal people and I didnt find it intimidating at all when I was in court.
Best of luck to you fella

Tell em you'd give the old lady across the road a lift to Matalan, cos her husband was ill and couldn't do it, so you was just waiting outside for her, they'd have to let you off with such a nice and believable story

They will be trying to get him for causing a nuisance, they do it round here to try to stop all the boy racers gathering in car parks. tried doing them for not having tickets.....so they started buying tickets....so now they made this one up

i leterally pulled in and was sorting my change out in the car when the police pulled in got the 1st 3 cars and left the rest of the car park which had about another 20-30 cars in with people sitting. i was planning on leaving the car as i was heading along the sea front. but police never asked how long i had been there or what i was doing there etc

Id go one step further and tell them that you are angry at having to book a day off and go to court to explain yourself when all you did was park up for a walk along the sea front. were there any of your mates there in cars?

the copper said to me that i would be getting a letter off the council saying that i had my details taken etc and if i persisted to go back down then i could be faced with a fine etc
so i give my details thinking it was just my name being taken for their records

Its a barraster in court, a solicitor is someone you see before you go to court. Its your choice really, I would get the barraster to stand up and make a statement, the prosecution will make theirs and then the magistrates might choose to ask you a few questions. Have you paid for the barraster? mine cost me £350 everytime I go to court!
