I used to own the 1.8 16v, I did want the 2.0 Turbo but the insurance would of been a bit too high. Plus I wanted this colour combo with those alloys and this one came up and a good price so I went for it.

I did love it, especially in the summer but after a year I got bored and wanted something a bit faster so went for the LCR.

Here's a couple of pics of my old one:

1.8 is quick enough though, for getting about. I wouldn't buy one as a "fast" car, but I have one as my nice car

I wouldn't even consider the 1.6, it feels as flat as a pancake compared to the 1.8. I use to have a 1.8 SE2 coupe and it was was a good motorway cruiser, with the extra weight of the roof mechanism then you really do need the 1.8 or even the 2.2.

They did the 1.6 engine in the convertables and late coupes as well as hatches.

In some countries in Europe they did a 1.2 astra g, the same engine as an sxi corsa!
