For my next car, Ive pretty much made my mind up on a fiesta ST I really like the interior and the looks from the outside are spot on IMO. And the fact I can pick up a 56 reg with 5k miles for £8000 has nearly convinced me as for a car that retails at £14k before extras, that seems a bargain. Would be like this, in white with just side stripes (think over top stripes are to chavvy) but possibly with rs7 diamond cut alloys :

But Im not very clued up on any common problems, and Im trying to weigh up the pros and cons?
So any advice on why to get one, why not to get one or what car I can get that has similar power and is available for £8000ish at only a year old would be massively appreciated!
Cheers

My ex had one that i drove quite a bit.
There not sluggish but there not fast. Interior is nice but the seats arent as comfu as they look.
Will do about 32mpg on motorway runs.
They handle pretty well better than a corsa anyway!
Problems - its been back to ford for idle air control valve, about 3 litres of water in the boot and about 2 litres in each door as they are not sealed!!
If your after performance then a clio 182 is better value for money all round.

they aren't 14k before extra's.
can get one for about 9.5k with discount or about 11k new. 11k for a 150bhp top of the range fiesta is good IMO.

150bhp.
not too bad performance wise.not the best but there of.
They ARE reliable.
Mazda engines in the Fiesta ST so none of the usual faults with th eolder fords.
Well built and sturdy and a better built car than clio IMO.
Ive had mine for over a year trouble free driving.
