the garage to get my engine diagnosed fingers crossed its nothing major, i will report back when im home.

well after dropping car off just after half past 8 and being told it would take them an hour to an hour and a half to be done i thought i would walk round the local country park (rothervalley for those of you that went to meet years back) to pass an hour,as i get back to the garage i find that my car hasnt been moved at all,so i set off walking home. just woke up and my mum tells me the garage has been on phone cars done and its my egr valve thats broke £400+

you can blank it off pal, coupl of quid to do, same happened on mine..took it for a good thrash and it cleared up, if it happens again ill blank it

thats a massive rip off a complete massive rip off, a mate of mine got his 1.6 16v astra's done for £80 at a vauxhall dealer.

if it is for a 1.4/1.6 vaux engines, I have a few good egr valves that came off working engines that you can have for the cost of p&p. fitting is only 30 mins.

I had mine tested as well the other week coz the EML light came on, my egr valve doesnt work either- does that mean i will be losing power?

na don't think it will lose you power, but incase it screws up again blank it and remove the pump, but don't think that you will get anymore power because you won't.

where can you get blanking plates from and where do they go on the egr system

The blanking plate won't solve the problem if the valve is fucked.

i think someone said vauxhall have the blanking plates. not sure if they do though

matt h me and my cousin have spoken about this just need to find a decent redtop if i where to put one in.

a new egr valve isnt £100 i dont think from vauxhall then its only an hour tops to fit it 350+vat is way way too steep you could prob get it done at the main dealer for less
