First of all not me, a very very silly friend of mine. Crashed his car off and breathalised, twice over the legal limit. Will be in court tomorrow. Hes 19 and in his first 2 years of driving. What should he expect?? Cheers.

A colleague of mine got caught 2 weeks ago at twice the legal limit and for the 3rd time in 6 years. Was expecting to be locked up.
Got 2 year ban reduced to 1 yr if he goes to AA and a £200 fine!!! Fuckin joke.

Twice over it will probably be an 18 month ban.

Will be an 18 month - 2 year ban. Prob about £300 fine. As said, if he chooses to do the Rehabilition course it will reduce the ban by 25% but that costs around £200. This is all from experience btw so he should expect about the same.

18 month at least, probably an option to reduce by a few months if he does an improvement course, did he take out and signs posts etc as if he did may need to pay for them

Should be a life ban In my opinion, but it will likely be a 18 month or 2 year ban.

In my world he would have just lost his license for life
But this isnt my world, this is England, so a ban + fine + chance to re-offend.
Edit: Not to mention his insurance when he comes off his ban.

I agree it needs to be harsher. That's the problem with most offenses these days- the punishment isn't enough to deter offenders or stop them reoffending.
Personally, the thought that I might kill myself or someone else is quite enough.
