I use to do this with hangovers. Luckly my boss at the time was a naive bitch and us to go look at jodi he goes the extra mile coming in when he can barley stand. The little trooper.

Different companies have different procedures.
If you fall to be disciplined, you'll be disciplined.

Depends how many times he's been sick in given time periods i guess?

For instance, with my company, if you're sick 3 seperate times within 3 months then you get called in for a chat. If you go sick within 6 months of this you get a verbal warning. If you go sick within 6 months of the verbal you get a written warning. If you go sick within 12 months off the written warning you get a final written warning.

So basically with me, if i go sick 3 seperate times in 3 months is a long slippery slide down the pan. The key is to time it around the '3 in 3'

It's not too bad, you just have to make sure you dont have too many seperate periods. I could have 6 weeks off full sick pay and they would say nothing because it's only one period of sickness.

If it's a part time job, phone in sick and don't worry about it. I'm still gutted I didn't abuse the system a bit more when I was working P/T in a supermarket .

One of my old jobs hated me!

In 3.5 years I had 5 weeks off with a broken elbow, 1 week off with tonsilitis, 2 weeks off with flu and 5 weeks off with a broken finger

So about 3 months off sick!

What do you want, a medal?

Personally i just think that is stupid, im sure you have been ill plenty of times where you quite frankly shouldnt have been around people (ie, to pass it on)

There is such a think as sick pay for a reason, im by no means condoning people who abuse this fact.
