The end result of an icy corner....

Not even speeding, back end came out, front also slid, tried to control the slide, car went the other way, completely sideways, again tried to control it and was stopped by a couple of gates and a hedge

Nope 3rd party, fire and theft.. lost 2 years NCB for the repair of the two gardens

I got away lightly with whiplash, bump on the head, grazed leg and some aches etc

same thing happend to me mate, charging my dead battery up in the lanes come round a corner back end slips out i correct the oversteer too much go into a hedge sideways and rolled on its o/s. my damage is not as bad as yours but still enough to make you realise how bad the weather is.

No thanks, i dont see the point in a fast road car.... which was why i was going to sell the calibra in the spring / summer

As long as the engines fine you should be able to make near on 2k at least by splitting it.

how fast were you going? all good and well saying not speeding but 59 in a 60 would still be too fast for the conditions.

Was planning on a 1.3 polo coupe to go the two miles to and from work each day...

just under 40 in a 40 when it slid.. dont remember much after exept lots of steering wheel action
