Last night, channel 4.
who watched it? some sick brainwashed fucks TBH.
PMSL @ 31st October 2007, they thought it would be the end of the world, and they were saying goodbye and celebrating and everything
idiot leader who said god forced him to have sex with his sons wife and a 15 year old
he set a new Apocolypse date - FRIDAY
I felt sorry for the children, born into that group, and brought up to believe in it.

Some people just arent right in the head. They should never be allowed to influence a number of people.
PS I never watched the programme, how many people followed/believed him?

their community was about 77 people. though during the epidsode a couple of people (adults) left. Their kids chose to stay behind. One couple got the police to get their daughter out of there because the 60 year old micheal had sex with her.
a young brother and sister were forced out by their mum who'd left, but they returned.
It was bloody creepy. Got the feeling that this messiah bloke could convince them to commit suicide if he wanted, and it was very plausable given he'd got the apocolypse date wrong. if he gets it wrong too many times, he might well suggest a mass suicide on gods order.

I watched it, thinking WTF. Was so funny when they all came out at midnight saying 'Thank the lord, we're free'
Laughed at the end too when the captions came up saying 'Michaels body hasn't yet changed' - 'He has set a new date of 15th December'
Wonder how long he can keep setting a date before they all get fed up!

I saw it, I felt so sorry for the kids that had been brainwashed, and how they were saying the end of the world was going to be awesome and so exciting

I found it really weird where near the end 'Michael', the two girls and the boy were sitting on the swing chair and the interviewer asked how can they have made the choice to stay in the cult when they don't know the outside world and they all laughed really strangely. Really pointed out how completely out of touch they are and brainwashed.

felt a bit sorry for his son, felt towards the end as though his son was realising how fucked up his dad was but was in a bit too deep to get out

Yeh, I thought the same, he was always very sheepish, just did what he was told and too scared to answer back.

Agree about the mass suicide element. Funny but tragic programme all the same.

that micheal bloke is a complete moron. and those girls saying that they felt the need to go to micheals place and strip naked, and then beg for sexual practice. utter crap. micheal mentioned somethign about nakedness, and the extent that micheal has brainwashed them, they interprate that as in they have to physically go to his house and lay naked on his bed, then interprate further that he should fuck them. disgusting.

I liked Jeff, you could tell he wasnt convinced by it all. He seemed the only remotely sane person there. As said before, he's in too deep to get out.
