lets be honest now though:
that much power, the handing the fact it is a B series rally ledgen. it came along and ruled the series for a good few years made the quattro look silly
makes me hard thinking of such a beast. its not a car its a weapon

Statistically, the Lancia 037 and Audi quattro were more successful, so it's possibly not the greatest car EVER.
The Delta S4 was better as well.

get out my topic......
what i meant is out of nowhere (it seemed) the 205 came and beat the quattro and was top of the game for a bit. audi however did gain that back
as for lancia i thought they never really got that far due to drivers dying in big crashes,

according to your list only the stratos (ugly thing) had more wins than the 205/ as a car not a manufacturer

The first season Peugeot used the 205 T16, they finished 10th. the next season they were 3rd.
BOTH of those years, Audi and Lancia beat them.
Then, in 1985, Peugeot won, but only when they'd got a larger engine and more power.
It didn't exactly 'come out of nowhere', it took them 3 years to get it right 
The Audi and the Lancia both had more podium finishes than Peugeot did with the T16.
Lancia are THE most successful WRC team ever.

That list doesn't take into account 2nds and 3rds.
The fact is, the other two had more consistent podium finishes than Peugeot.

still my favourite either way.
might have got my facts a bit wrong about coming out of knowwhere but either way the car did well and is fucking cool.
i see someone seems to like b series more than i do though. or you need to get out more!
lancia have indeed done very well. tbh i am suprised at pug and ford being 2nd and 3rd though

i know that but i have a DVD called too fast to race about group b and lancia had two of there cars (different models) crash on the same event killing drivers both times and both time they withdrew from the season
