hello!

after seeing boy racers wide arches corsa on 20" wheels ect on this site about a year and a half ago there has always been a part of me which has wanted to try and produce some thing of a similar nature. So after selling my skyline and having a few extra quid to spend i am thinking of giving it a go. I know that the wide arched Prowler kits will not go down well with a lot of you but for the past 3 years all i have ever done is egine work, and i want to try some thing diffrent and i think a wide arched corsa will be the way to go about it.

So i would like to ask, what is the quality like of the wide arched prowler kits? because i a few months back i bought a replica Veilside front bumper for my car and it fit like a size 9 shoe on a size 12 foot! So has anyone on here fitted the kit themselfs and couls give me a rough idea of the fit quality? not really difficulty as i know it will be a pain in the arse!

So yes any help will be greatly appreciated although i am sure 90% of the forum will have the style and tell me its a crap quality just so i dont put a poor corsa through the missery!

Thanks, Tomm

the quality is very poor, its fibreglass and it does need quite a bit of work to get it looking nice

As Steve says, a LOT of work is going to be needed to get it to fit right, and look right once fitted (panel gaps etc)

Jacko's (boyracer2002) was a very modified version of that kit. Everything like the arches, skirts and bumpers were extended to fit the wheels without looking shit, ie so the wheels didn't look too big.

a wide arch kit for a skyline is around 2k! and i am to inexsperiance for the skyline to be completely honest!

Dimma is the sex, but 205..... it would have to be a 306 and i cant deal with french stuff haha! sorry mate!

German or Jap!

How much extra working will it need to have a wuality fit? in all honestly i didnt expect it to be to great, any one on here personaly fitted one?

What sort of price do these go for now? last time i looked they were around £500?

sorry i wrote that last post as you stuck yours up!

Yes jackos, well now Hur13ys oneis what i have my heart set on! I have seen a few on smaller wheels but they just dont look as decent as Jackos did, i think the kit looks pretty naff with withought a decent se of wheels fitted. Also how wide do the rear wheels have to be to fill the rear arches? i have a set of 19" by 9"'s or will i need to run some spacers on the back with them?

PS love the Euro van!

Look on ebay for the kit.

I'm sure a decent bodshop would fit it. Just make sure they do a good job.

Cheers.

IIRC, The wheels on Jacko's were 8.5" wide. They were BMW fitment, but can't remember what offset. Next time i speak to him, i'll point him the direction of this thread to give some more info.

Will deffinately be buying jans issue of FC!

That would be great thanks Jimmy! that would help me out alot! I just think the kit doesnt look as stunning withought decent size & width wheels being fitted....

Like this for exsample!

All of the work will be done by myself! damn body shops! Who needs 'um! Gives me some thing to put in a build thread and it gives me the exsperiance for latter down the line when i want to wide arch some thing!

EDIT:-

Jenko? are you using a prowler kit? if you are i dont suppose you could throw some photos up could you?

/\ Thats Jacko's when he first did it. Second time round consisted of different front bumper and extened everything and being on 20's rather than 19's in that pic

for 250 quid for that amount of kit id expect all the panels to need f/glassing on the imside for strength and a ery very poor fit

I fitted a Prowler kit to my previous Corsa B and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. As Steve so visely pointed out, it's going to need a lot of adjusting.
It's honestly not worth the effort...!

Just had a read through your build up on RMS, and i must say it looks ace!

Like you say for £250 i am not exspecting much at all! but to be fair, even some of the top quality kits have shite fits!

Thanks a lot for your response there mate! Why would you say its not worth the effort? do you have any photos of your old one?

Cheers for the comment and the fact you thought my car looks well (or old car) to want to copy off.
The 1st time round - in the pic above - was a complete pain in the arse to get it to fit perfect, the wheels were 19" as already mentioned, they were for a saxo/ford but had them re-drilled to fit the vauxhall as the ET of the wheel was 18 making them sit out more and fill the arches without using dodgy spacers, my mate currently has these wheels and is selling them if its of interest to you?
As for the 20's i was running an et16 or something along those lines including the spacers i had made which cost me £750 for those alone, custom made, drilled, and bolted on as 4 stud to take a 5 stud wheel, the work to get them under the arches was not as bad as you expect, i had no front wings left and hardly any rear 1/4's under the kit (not very strong i spose but did the job for me) could also get full lock too when turning - when i had the 20" anyway, 19's i struggled a little more as was lowered -60mm all round with those.

The car scene is out of OTT cars now however i still like to see a well done one and if you fancy on taking the job on then go for it, i have no regrets at all in all the years i showed it

HEy Jacko! The exact person i wanted to talk to! But although i think you may have heard it before some how, beautiful car mate, very very inspiring! Dependant on price I might be intrested in them 19's. what sort of price is he after?

I am not supprised at the fact that you had no arch left under the kit! We fitted 19's to my mates S14 the other week and the amount of arch cutting thich was involved was imense! When you fuitted the 20's did you have to alter the inner arches at all? Do you have any photos of the underside of the kit at all?

but thanks alot for your help jacko! and to be honest looking at your old car (it still is yours in my eyes, you made it!) I will give it a bash because i think this showes it is possible! And of course it isnt easy, or every other corsa would be like this!

I do agree, not may people are into the drasticly modified show cars any more BUT the cars which are OTT although they might not be to my tast, you have to appreciate the amount of effort which has gone into it!

do you have anything else on the cards at the moment jacko?

i think i may need a lot of help and advice from you once i finaly get the project on the go!

im not sure if he is wanting £650ish but i will find out and let you know if your interested? i know one of the wheels is brand new as i damaged one and bought another for him - he never used them in the end as didnt fit his car.

I didnt have inner arches they were thrown in the bin in the end, when i had the 20's and the car was sat down on the floor it used to rest on the chassis leg it was that low lol

Nothing else for me now, im done with modding cars, cant afford to loose the money any more lol not like i could then either haha just standard smart quick car for me now
