106gti will easily beat a 206 gti 130, a 180 would be a closer affair wouldnt like to call it

Uphill race, then on a flat straight. Same car won both times.

not true, when i owned my 106 gti and my mate had his 206 gti 130, we were almost even to 70/80, then he would pull ahead
we swapped cars a few times aswell to see if it was the driver making the difference...

i disagree steve the 138 bhp is quicker than most think evo tested it at 7.5 seconds to 60
plus its a great handling car

that would be right the 138 is ok to 90 then loses the pace thats when the 180 excels

The 106 won, but only just creeped past. Guessing due to the weight difference is why it won.
For a 2.0 car the 206gti i feel is very dissapointing, they're something like 135-140bhp?
The lad that owned the 206 used to have a 1.0 corsa c. Last night the guy wrote off the gti. He owned the car less than 24 hours too.

this is the details
206 gti 138bhp
206 180 180 bhp
book figures
138 bhp 8.4 to 60
180 bhp 7.5 to 60
in real world they are quite different

Yeah, and only just crept past.
The 106 gti we were in is standard bar an airfilter + exaust.
Not sure why people think a standard 106gti would beat a gti 180??

your car mustve been shafted then, a 106 will easily beat a 130bhp, that is a fact, not a made up one either

and yes the weight difference is quite a bit but the 206 is 4 star n-cap and the 106 is your dead in a crash cap
