Budget = £800
Going on her own policy so needs somethig low on insurance
Colour = not too fussed but nothing extravagant (sticking to normal colours)
I have suggested - Corsa B, Micra (old shape), Fiesta, Ka (doesnt want this)
Needs to be able to be tatty tbh because she isnt the most observant so can see her knocking it about, so struggling to recommend anything french (tin of worms opened ). Whats going to get her best bang for buck with the budget? Im thinking a 1.0 12v B is probly best (plus its better than the 1.2's??) but yea throw some suggestions at me
edit - duh forgot to add, shes learning now and is 17

Won't get a nice VW Polo for £800 imho.
Baring in mind the 12v is quite new in terms of second hand market on B's (newer than 1.2 8v's for example) it might be a dog for £800.
I'd suggest a post-97 Corsa Breeze. 1.2 8v engine, but with power steering etc, the latest look. Probably pick up quite a nice one.
tbh, Corsa is going to be your best bet. If you look at MK4 Fiestas, make sure it's the 1.3 8v engine. Loud, but more reliable than Zetec engines, especially if she isn't likely to look after it.

Penis out legs open (Polo). Even the 1.0 ones are 4 pots so have a little bit of go. They are built well as well

deex does that 1l even move with ICE in it? i hear what you are saying about Polo's but i think it would be a dog for this money. Punto and Chinqi would be alright probly, that £795 Clio Mark found looks very nice for that price! will be passing on some suggestions

has a 1.4 gearbox on it which means it can sit on motorways nicely and sees off 1.2 clios

Being a huge k11 micra fan, i would say the bubble shape micra, 1.3 twin cam, 16v, 75bhp
cheap to run, own, insure, no fucker would steal it....
however most are rusting pretty bad these days to be honest, so i would scrub that one off

if you are going for a 800 quid budget, you want to be getting something you can get spare parts from a scrapyard easy, that way if little bits go wrong its not going to cost anything.
