Basically my A4 died yesterday and i cudnt be bothered with it for a while.

Ive been offered a '97 1.2 8 valve corsa merit with 85k for £800. Just wondering would 85k be a bit worrying at all. It drives fine, pasted the mot last week(only needed new pads and handbrake cable), but eventually i would consider red topping it. Do you think there would be a lot of wear on the structure of the car?

Cheers for any help at all
Ricky

85k on a very simple engine is nothing! I'd be worried if it was a Ferrari.

Should be ok if it's passed the MoT. Those engines are pretty bombproof too!

my '93 1.2 8V has done 128,000 and has blown a head gasket at 80,000 and ECU went tits up at 100,000 - no other problems at all touch wood. The engines are pretty bomb proof

Not bad. Whats do yous think of it value wise?

Also would it have power steering, its an early '97. If not is it hard to fit?

i had a 1.2 8v with 120+ on it. altho it needed the headgasket doing so i stopped driving it

if the cars exceptionally tidy with the kit well done and nice rims, lowered etc then i cant see how its not worth 800

pics?
