used to be red and yellow vans in the region of cumbria. easy spot them. today, whilst driving down motorway, seen a yellow van on bridge, looked exactly like a construction/highway maintenace van as they are doing bridge repairs on the m6 in a few places. it wasnt, was completely unmarked speed camera van with just a small slot for the camera. i just hope i slowed down in time.

safety camera my arse, more fuckers were braking and swerving over the road to avoid other cars swerving and braking which in turn id say was far more dangerous. i vote for that fella who sent letter bombs to the dvla as the next prime minister. him or clarkson.

thing is, 90% of people on motorway that are not in a restricted vehicle like a wagon, or some parcel vans do over 70. most do 80-90. now think of 20 cars all slapping the brakes on as everyone spotted this unmarked van late, thats a accident waiting to happen. no van on bridge, people go about their business happily. only time theyre a safety camera van is when theyre parked up at the depot. theyre a bunch of cunts.

ever noticed how its always a fat ugly bitch of a bird, or a fat twat of an old bloke that has nothing better to do with their time, or couldnt get a proper job to save themselves? its never proper people that do those jobs, just fat sweaty retards. fuck em.

thing is, if you were speeding then you deserve to get caught.

i take risks, i get away with it. i haven't before and i paid the price..

so either speed, take a risk and hope you don't get caught.

or,

drive at the speed limit and not worry about anyone else.

im not that fussed about being caught i have a clean liscence so it wont really matter. im more concerned about the term safety camera van that seem to be opperated by fat sweaty butch lesbian types.

do these cameras on motorway bridges make the roads safer? or do they have more potential to cause an accident from people doing 75ish hammering on the brakes in a blind panic?

does anyone know anybody who works as a safety camera opperator? are they a decent person? or do you just want them to measure how fast your fist is about to smack them in the face bursting the 17 pork pies they were munching on across the dashboard.

if you are doing the correct speed, and you give the van the fingers. you will get done for not being in control of the vehicle. fuckin bullshit.

If you hadn't have been speeding then you wouldn't have had out to worry about would you?

imo speeding on a motorway in a well maintained car, when there is little traffic and the road conditions and visiblity are good and you are not intoxicated or tied ..... is not taking a risk (within reason)...

I think up to a 100 mph in the above scenerio is perfectly acceptable...

Autobahn in Germany is perfectly fine, people arn't dying left right and center despite having a lack of speed limit.

Thing is, by having no speed limit, people in the outside lane actually understand they 'MAY' be holding someone up, and thus they pull in and let people pass!

In the UK - because the LIMIT is 70... if someone is in outside lane doing 70 (or 65 mph as their speedo is wrong), they sit there feeling entitled to do so, despite the inside lanes being free... This results in frustration, tail gaiting and far more likely to cause an accident...

People say 'The limit's there for a reason' - but most of the reason the limit is there isn't valid...

the limit was set in a time before car's were capable of doing the speeds or stopping like they can now!

With exceptions to busy traffic, road works, bad weather, bad conditions, unfit driver, un-road-worthy car... They should be able to do up to 100 imo (maybe just 90) in the outside lane.

to be honest i don't even feel safe at 100mph i think 85 would be acceptable but that's pushing it. no matter what happens, people will always go faster than the speed limit anyway.

lol@ muppetsport. tottaly agree though. thier only there to make money. like is said in the new total vauxhall, more police motorway patrol cars and less speed cameras would be a much safer way. and yes the speed limmit should be higher, 100mph is easily and safely achievable in my tigra. im sure bigger and more high power vehicles wouldnt break a sweat at those speeds.

Depends what car your in / state of your tyres etc...

my car feels as safe at 100 as it does at 70...

I could understand if you were ragging a 1.2 8v or something screaming every last ounce out of it to try to get to the 100 mph marker, it'd feel slightly unsafer...

in my car it just sits at 5k rpm in 5th at 100 cruising along like no effort, the pedal just needs a slight touch to keep it at that speed.
