work 4 hours ago. However a powercut or a blown fuse meant my alarm didn't go off and I only woke up 1/2 an hour ago.
I've now rung in to explain, but I wonder how bollocked i'll get tonight when I go in. Never missed work like this in 4 1/2 years

And your on Corsasport?
I suppose another 5 minutes on top of 4 hours isn't really going to make much difference.

Accidents happen, if this were "yet another excuse" then you really would be in bother!

You should be fine, as Matt says if it was a regular thing then you'd be in shit, but I'd be more than happy if an employee, worked 4 1/2 years without something like this

Not going in now, they may swap my rota day.
Onlly usually miss work due to being ill and thats only 1 or 2 days a year if that.
But as i've said i've never missed work because i've misread a rota, or slept through an alarm, or any lame excuse before.
When they finally answered the phone I apologised for not being in and he said ' you overslept then' I said no because my alarm never went off in the 1st place
Have to set the alarm on my phone as a backup from now on!

I use my phone, which when it's on the table is fine but I've got in to this habit of putting it on the pillow next to me so it's easier to snooze it, but this makes it quieter!

I'd get in more crap for being sick again. It's a genuine excuse and as said i've never been late or missed work for no reason in 4 1/2 years

Don's told me about how much of an anus your work is about time off, sickness n that.
Best thing you could of done is say what you did. Humans arn't perfect, things happen. You cannot be at fault for a power cut and no alarm going off.
If they give you any shit, just speak to Donna and she does all the employment law for work

I was 7 minutes late.
Dave you will hate me (im in Gravesend).
I was up at 7.45am, spent 15 minutes trying to sort an ingrowing toenail. Realised i was gonna be late, kitted up, left the house at 8.20am. Got into the city center for 9.07am including some cr4ppy traffic though the BW tunnel.
I love bikes A
