Got this a couple of months ago and never posted any pics, its the 2.2 SE2. Was going to be up for sale but thank god I managed to sort a few financial issues so i can keep it
With xmas and my birthday coming up I'm going to get a few bits for it so after a few suggestions on what to do. Was thinking lowered 50/30 eibach kit, de-badged grille and with the weather some std vaux mudflaps?!
Opinions welcome

Would love a GSI front bumper but near impossible to find one, and £400+ from LMF....er.....NO!
Irmscher grill would be the one i'd go for

I just went for the plain slatted grille on mine, looked much better than the irmscher ones and was really cheap

I bought a set of new GSi turbo shocks and the Eibach springs and it handled very well

You dont need to do alot to the mk4's to make them look nice tbh

They don't do a 50/30 Eibach kit, 30/30 is the only one available for the Coupe

You could use the hatch kit but then the weights are all wrong

I saw your post matt on AOC, did you order the springs? Everyone seemed to say about the dif weights but no-one could give a definative answer! 30/30 it is then!
I was going to order the plain slatted one but theres something about the irmscher one, will see what santa brings hey

I have the Irmscher one, from what I understand you have to alter the release catch on non genuine grilles?

Yeah I ordered the springs, went to fit them the other day & couldn't find my spring clamps They will be on soon!

ive lowered mine 40mm all round, looks good, but make sure you dont get the turbo springs by mistake, they are different as the turbo has electronic self leveling shit on the suspension.

You just missed out on an irmscher front splitter on Ebay(cool) it was in mint condition already painted in your colour.

My plans are to get the front and rear irmy kit, irmy grille. really sets the coupe off imo. as said before it doesnt take much for these to look ace

Irmy grille, Irmy suspension, Irmy rear bumper extensions, GSi front bumper - Bang - done
Mine will be looking like that soon, plus 18" Irmy Evo stars.
Once I've spoken to my insurance company tomorrow after some cunt hit it tonight outside my house and drove off, front bumper bracket is broken.
I'm soooo fucked off atm, but hey ho

If I get time tomorrow I'll take a pic of the damage - I will have to anyway to send to the insurance company - damage isn't much to look at, front passenger wing has a small dent/ripple in it right on the curved swage line round the wheel arch so can't be fully popped out (needs a little filling and spraying aswell) scuffs on the front bumper (which will probably tcut out) also gone right through the paint and primer right down to the bare plastic in a couple of spots, paint on the whole corner of the bumper has cracked under the laquer and the bumper retaining brackets have broken on that corner so it's flapping about bit on that side - looks a cunt and I hate seeing it like that, other good news is that the drivers side leccy window mech broke the other morning because of the frost - always defrost the door windows properly before trying to use them or even opening a door!

Anyway, this is a thread hijacking!

Messham, subtle mods are the best options - and yours is looking pretty sweet as it is - just lower it a little and it's all gravy!

will ddo matey, i know someone that had a coupe his did the same, his excuse was,"he didnt realise the windows had an automatic roll down to enter the car" hed owned it a feww months too. also the battery was shagged on mine when i bought it, so the windows wouldnt go up into the seal

on with the thread...

I opened the door to goto work the other morning, heard a snap, window no worky!
Turns out that the mech has broken and I'm having it replaced next week (busy week next week for the Coop it seems!), all because of some fucking water!
In future I'm spraying de-icer round the window edges!
All Coop owners are advised to do it!

Right, I'm off to bed - toodles!

had one of these...cracking cars.

i would recommend a split drop of say 50/30 etc... 30 and 40 all round doesnt look right as the front never drops as much as the rear.

also, with winter nearing i would recommend fitting a traction control switch. when i had my coupe it was absolutely useless when it snowed cos of the traction control
