emo is a term used to describe someone who listens to 'emo', which can be anything from fall out boy/my chemical romance types to full on heavy screaming bands.
emo's kinda old now, all black, skinny jeans with black straightened hair, also known as 'scensters' lol
russell brand calls himself a 'goth' but you could say he was slightly emo.
the trends now are more indie/nu-rave: skinny jeans and shirts/colourful tees/cardigans/patterned hoodies...
think klaxons with a hint of kaiser chiefs in it. most of the items in topman would be considered pretty indie/nu-rave.
