I do it to look better. I'm pretty vain. I think everyone has a bit of vanity in them tbh. It's also the best stress relief hobby I know of.

not really, some people do it to enter powerlifting/strongman/bodybuilding comps, others do it for their livelihood/jobs.

I work 9-5 as a designer during the day, at a computer so i do it to stay in shape, and i just like to look good. I also dont like the skinny boy/skinny fat physiques and prefer to be bigger, maybe its a vanity issue, all i know is i do it to look/feel good and because i enjoy it

ive not got much in upper body muscle but i can lift heavy things all day long. i personally think there is no need to work on it. its no advantage other than as people say, to look good. nothing against it. i just wanted to know why people did it?

Couldn't agree more. It's a very satisfying feeling leaving the gym after a good workout. Especially if you're making good progress size and strength wise.

It's also very addictive because you can see you're progress in the mirror. It's also good getting complements off ladies. (and in a very gay way, lads)

It's a lifestyle, not a hobby. My life revolves around it. Why? Because it's my life and that's how i want to live it.
I train for a number of reasons, all 3 of my jobs involve violence to a certain degree so it's usueful for me to have greater strength than the average male. It also gives me something to focus on - without the gym IMHO i'd just plod along doing everyday crap, stuck in a rut, and bored of life.
I love my hour in the gym and the other 23 hours of the day are what determinds muscle growth.

Only been there a month but can only echo what the regulars are saying. I've noticed my general health and immune system feels stronger, I'm happy when i'm done and accomplished something, it gives me something to look forward to as i actually enjoy it and my general outlook on life though the week seems better.

Might all be in my head but that's what i feel has changed since i started going regularly.
