Are they pretty nippy for what they are?
Do they have more power than other 1.0L cars?

Reason why I ask is coz ppl keep asking me if mine is souped up, which it isn't and a drilled and derestricted airbox with Courtney Sport panel filter wouldn't really provide any more power.

All show no go in the case of drilled airbox mate.

You should know they aren't exactly quick - just being a 12v, they have a bit more poke & can handle motorway speeds a bit better.

They're quicker than a lot of people expect them to be, but are by no means fast.

Oh yeah, I know but am wondering if they be faster than other 1.0L 12v's.
I know they have around 58bhp which is more than I'd imagine a 1.0L to have.

To be fair mine was just as quick as the other slow cars.. 1.2 8v Corsa, 1.1 Saxo etc, so yeah.. Just pulling out onto roundabouts and such was almost suicide!

I know 1.0L 12v has more power than 1.2L 8v and probably more than a 1.1L Saxo.

Yeah Fad, we can't all own 182 Clios mate

Dom I am scarred from the 12 volt courtesy car I had with dual controls....they are just too dangerous for the roads!

1.1 Saxo are quite quick for they are as they resemble a brown paper bag in the wind

i love mine!!
not super performance but with K&N 57i, Irmy back box and straight trhu sounds great and with just me in the car is zippy round country lanes without being illegally fast, holds well lower 35mm on AVO kit

I liked mine for the year I had it. So what if you can't get anything 'off the lights'...........anyone with sense wouldn't try anyway. Still quick enough to break the speed limit though. Suited me just right for a first car.

Cool.
I'm hoping to have mine lowered 50mm sometime soon.
Will defo make my car look better and my tiny Gsi alloys not look so small.

they arent that bad.
can keep up on the motorways, just takes a while to get to speed.
and it can be slightly scary pulling out on roundabouts in heavy traffic

1.0l's aren't bad, I have to admit old mate that once I got my 1.2 yours seemed very nippy, and compared to my mates 1.2 yours and mine would piss all over his.

I think it's pretty slow... even in neutral it takes about 5s just to get to the red line!!!
It's not the slowest ever.. but have you ever seen a 1.0 Toyota Yaris? It's a lot, but I mean a lot faster!

you need to bear in mind that they were never designed to be fast, theyre meant for mothers taking the kids to school then going shopping

Aye - the fact you get better fuel economy around town, country lanes, than motorways says something.

Has anyone ever noticed, they pull & cruise better with more weight in it?

My 12v hasn't let me down in over 14k miles. My mates 1.2 8v didn't even last 14k miles in his ownership. Go figure.
