How nice is this -- if they made the r27 in white I would of seriously considered it.

Comes with cup suspension, brembo brakes and optional recaro interior.

R27 was the first 197 to have the cup suspension, lower ride height, brembo brake kit, recaros - cup 197 isnt out for a few months yet

R27 is limited edition of 500 produced in the renault f1 factory - r27 has recaros as standard, tints, brembo 4 pots, aircon and metallic paint as standard where as these are added extras on the cup 197.

Not much difference really - R27 was out a year before the cup, should have better residuals and it looks better imo - The cup is more expensive than the r27 with the extras.

List price was something silly like £17k - I paid £15k with a couple of extras , most people have paid between £13,995-£16,500 for theirs

You guys that cream over the bare bones interiors with no toys = weight saving thing do you buy these cars for track days?

If you buy them as a road car is it worth losing all the creature comforts to save yourself 100kg and 0.4 seconds of your 0-60 time?

Only people i can see buying cup/rallye/striped versions of a hot hatches are the ones that race people on the roads??

Agree totally set h - I do alot of miles, but I also like to drive pretty quickly ... R27 was perfect for me, as was the cooper s.. comfy, quick enough, aircon, good handling, plenty of heavy sound deadening and a nice stereo fitted.

I would love a stripped out track car but I couldnt live with it everyday.

Doubt it will be -- its not exactly stripped out inside.... its more the cup suspension and brembo brake kit you are paying extra for over the standard 197

I bought a rallye cause i like a rare car, and its still very comfortable and having windy windows really doesnt bother me, i can see your point though .

The Cup is £1000 cheaper than a normal 197! Gotta love Renault!

I agree, which is why i chose the normal clio sport as appose the the cup. However im considering the new one and i will deff go for the cup.

I dont really race people on the roads however i do live out in the sticks and get to drive fast open roads daily that most peolpe (specilly in the cities) could only dream off.

Looks good. Only thing that would appeal to me over a normal 197 is the white paint option.

Still rather a normal 197 with air con etc.

LOL i thought i was going to get slated. I just felt like taking a different angle on it.

Its getting harder/more dangerous to have blasts on public roads these days and i dont do track days so id find it hard to drop creature comforts as spend most of my life in traffic.

Rob agree with the rallye for exclusivity though, esp in white

I'd rather save £1000 and get this than have aircon.

Or you could save £1000s and buy an ex demo r27 - has everything the cup has plus tints, recaros, rare, f1 graphics - aircon, speed limiter, cruise control.

Those people who were waiting for the cup instead of buying an r27 must be wondering why they bothered wg
