£50 to click a button & for ME to post documents back to them
Absoloute rip off
Surely this is is a piss take & there is a way around it? Similar to skanky bank charges?

They want £300 extra to move to the new car, thats on top of the remaining payments.
Original policy was about £400, of which I've payed just over half. Is about £40 a month & the extra £300 makes it about £70 pm
Or start the year again with someone else & get it at £437.40 for the whole year & about £40pm

I cancelled my policy and was charged £40. Then they tried to debit my remaining year's payments (WTF). So after a strong phone call, they backed down saying it was a computer error, and haven't charged me any excess for my accident before I came here Overall win I feel...

Depends how you pay it
If it's per month then no, if it's upfront you'd get it back pro rata

Because I cancelled my insurance when I still had 5 months left, they gave me the money back that I had left, minus the cancellation fee, so I should of got £150.

there is a very easy way to get out of cancellation fees if you are in the first year of your insurance but you need to decide wether its worth the hassle for £50

It'll probably be in the paperwork you signed when you took out the policy, so there's not really a lot you can do about it easily.

They should have told you about cancelling insurance when you spoke to them, they should have advised you that there is a charge. If you can prove they didn't then you might be able to get out of it but it would be very hard to do.
Basically you will have to pay it!

I'm just stating that taking out the policy is an agreement, I've never signed for any insurance, so if there is no contract there then i'm getting bummed as i'm paying for fuck all. Surely if you have willing paid them for their services that is entering into a contract. (not saying you can't get out of it or anything just stating a fact.)

when i was with tesco and drove a 1.1 pug 106 and wanted to get a tigra they said they wouldnt insure me on it, so i asked about cancelling and they said i would have to pay charges. so i called customer services and explained the situation and they said because they wouldnt insure me on the car that i wanted they had to cancel it for free. as they couldnt meet my needs.
