This test was done on my car and with my driving style. No animals were harmed during the testing so far.
For the life of the T!R's there is always grip there.
As soon as the F1's were on the car the road noise was redused and they gripped very well. I'd say slightly better than the T1R's.
BUT, now that i have done 3k there is about 4mm left in tread (which is good so far) there just isn't as much grip anymore. It spins up too easily and even now spins going into 2nd.
If that is down to lack of driver control, well i never had to back off the throttle with the T1R's.
So overall so far,
TOYO T1R = Good.
GOODYEAR F1's = Bad!!!

BFGoodrich is the way to go, I've had both T1R's and F1's on my cars in the past and both dont come close to the BFGs I have on the cupra at the moment

I'm a pussy when it gets to the wet. All my crashes happened in wet conditions. So i'm not going to be able to tell if they are better for me in the wet or not.
However if there is any standing water on a straight, then i'll let you know about that. But the T1R's were very good when we had them floods round here.

I found my Toyos to be as shit as my Avons. I have them again now, I won't be replacing them with Toyos.

I have had these lot within the last few years:
toyo t1r: ok tyre, bad in the wet and wear fast
toyo t1s: see t1r
BF goodrich profiler G: utter shite all round
Goodyear F1: great tyre in both dry and wet, wear well and cope with traction
Uniroyal rainsport: same as the F1 but better in the wet, great under traction and braking, soft tyrewall means they grip but dont feel as direct in corners. Last ages as well

I went through both in my Astra and found that the T1R's were a alot better.
However i do think that the T1R's were a lot better in my Astra than on my Corsa. Most be down to the weight.......?

I went through Rainsports in 3K in my Astra. I had them on my 1st Corsa, but that was so long ago i can't remember how they were.

Dave its very strange that you say that cause the BFGs on my car are superb, by far the best tyre i've used on any of my cars

I honestly don't know how you used a set of Uniroyals in 3000 miles. My Avons lasted longer than that, I'd only just passed my test, so wasn't exactly driving sensibly, and they lasted twice that. They were like having butter on the rims compared to the Rainsports I had.

But my driving doesn't change with what ever tyre i have on the car.
So from that i have found from that the T1R is better for me with the roads that i drive on and the car that i drive with the sus setup that i have.
