Don't know why but I really like the look of these, looking at the 3.0 versions.
What do people think?
I like this one

They are nice to drive the 3.0; i almost bought one before option for the Z3m instead; that insurance still seems quite high to me as i pay £700 FC on my group 20 Z3M and im only 23 with 1 years NCB!!
If you do get one get a manual and not the SMG IMO.

OK if you're a female umpa lumpa.
My mum's owned two. One the same as that one and a black one after that, which looked so much better.
3.0 shifts well.

Wisebuyers stats 3.0i
Parkers stats 3.0i
i think their styling has become more accepted as time has gone on. i know they werent favoured when they arrived but i think they look the dogs, a beautiful car but with a strong jaw line! i'd be happy with one!

Coupe is nicer imho.
If you go for the Roadster, get the facelift model, much better

my boss has one, really comfortable cars, albeit a little loud on the road for longer journeys; 3.0l has plenty of power and handling seems good as well;
coupe is foOKing ugly! witha stupid roof design

Don't really like the coupe, and I can't afford one either. What year did the facelift come in? If you mean the 2006 one then I can't really afford one of them either.

Not sure when the facelift came in. Revised front and rear lights basically.
Apparently the 3.0si is the one to have as an all rounder. BMW Car Mag rated that over the Z4 M Coupe. They said they would see themselves driving home in the 3.0si, but the M Coupe is more fun, but less comfortable.

3.0si is the one. si being key, as it's found on the newer models, is a lighter engine or something. I'm sure the early 3.0i is very nice though. Probably out the E46 3 series.
