if you get caught speeding by one of the vans with back window open doing 36 in a 30 , is there any steps to take to maybe get off with it?
Now i dont want 500 pages of if you speed you pay the price type of crap, but are you in your rights to ask for a callibration report?
cheers

A copper with a speed gun = easy to get out of
a van = might as well pay up
Saying that i have never had a ticket

I would take the hit and move on TBH
A wortk college challenged a speeding fine for 50 in a 40 contra flow on the M25 when there was no cones out in the road
Initially it was 60 quid and 3 points
Ending uo being 3 points and 400 quid after court fees
not worth it

AND
36 on your speedo might not be 36 in real life, might be 34, so you might get away with it.
Plus, they allow 10% +1 (34) and sometimes just round it up anyway (35).
Ive been under vans over 6 months ago at 85 on the old Corsa speedo and not heard a thing.

they dont allow anything, its a common myth your allowed 10% this is a myth, but some forces do operate 10% at there discretion, they can do you for 31 if they really wanted to

But they wont!
Its not myth, its guidelines that are normally followed. 99% of forces realise that you dont stare at your speedo, thats they this 10% is in there.

no you couldnt, there is no point taking it to court at all.

Old speedometers actually say callibrated +-10% if you take them apart, new ones say callibrated as accuratly as possible. The police dont give any allowances, they dont have to.

The Ibiza (and probs ur Golf Kolin) was scary acurate, even at 120. The Clio is wank, 4mph out at 60, 5 at 85 and even more above.
