[quote="Ratty"]I bought this for Mrs Rat last Monday

As it was when it arrived home

Now a few piccys of it after owning it for 6 days

Hope you like

Day 8 - Not much done today, I got the old flitch panel removed and prepared for the new panel, just the bottom of the windscreen to sort now and then get the welder out

There wont be any updates for a few days as the weather is not looking good until Saturday, so the min has been tucked up is a warm blanket

Day 13

After much deliberation upon discovering the A Post was shot I've decided to replace the whole A post and O/S inner wing.

So it was out with the, drill, dremel and grinder again

Day 14 of ownership

Finished work @ 3, collected inner wing, got to work on the min

Only screwed on at present, hoping to get it all welded up tomorrow night

Day 15

The panels and big hole required to replace the A Post and inner wing

Day16 rain rain rain

So I put up the gazeebo to work under

The front is all screw on now, just got the final panel alignment to do before I fire up the welder

Anyhoo on to the pics

Its a mini again almost

Day 26

After not having any time this week thing have slowed down but I got the inner wing, bulkhead and scuttle done today

Day 27

N/S almost ready for A panel

Hole in O/S floor to deal with

Removed rear subframe and found more holes

Sheared off one N/S bolt, i'll weld a nut on to remove it but at least the heal board looks ok

The old subframe Mmmmm, remember this still has over 8 months MOT

It fell over

Bottom cleaning ops: horrid job

Bit more tin worm to kill

Day 51

Well Brother is now married, the sun is shining so I spose I ought to get me fingure out

Bit of bird shit ops:

Little better

New bum

Day 52

Scooby scooby doo

The last few rusty bits first

The floor panel marked for cutting

Few repairs

I need sleeeeeeeepppppp

Day 60

Only a quick update for today

Day 61

More tin worm to kill

Doobery doo

Paint prep at the front cos I got borred of welding

Day 65

Good bye paint

Thats it for the time being

Hello everyone the car above belongs to my Mrs she has always wanted a mini but alas we couldn't find a good one so I've been having to get my hands a little dirty (yup thats me in the overalls)

Thanks very much for all the kind comments so far with the build here is a few more pics to laugh over

Inside nearly ready for painting

Outside prep continues

Gazebo spray booth starts to take shape

Also finished painting and applying stone chip to the underside and got the black Mayfair's engine running. Then I fixed the siezed clutch and took it for a little drive around the yard, all seems to be working well enough for a transplant into the brown bomb once it has been painted. This will give me some much needed extra time to build the 1275 engine to go in next year

Once this car is finished I shall be making a few changes to my track car (the car under the blue tarp) and then I'll start on the black mayfair which will recieve either a Red Top, A Vtec or a VVC K Series engine

If your intrested I'll keep this update as I progress

I work in IT, so this is purely a hobbiest attempt

Read plenty, try techniques on scrap then the car. I have done a few other projects before mainly nuts and bolt stuff though

Looking good

Bit more paint to sand off the outside still, but it's time consuming and boring. I've sanded two corsas back to metal and it takes forever

I love Minis, but I don't really see the point in this project. If it was a 1275GT or a Cooper I could understand, it just seems an awful lot of work to restore a City though! Cool colour though!
