Done. IMO we shouldn't need to do this. It should already be offered.

farmers have their own insurance to cover this type of thing, no need for compensation as its part of the job, disease is a fact of life when rearing livestock.
My brother owns a farm, he has been affected but isnt crying for compensation, after all, the restrictions against moving livestock were put in place to protect the farmers interests as well.
most farmers are loaded anyway.
*awaits a thrashing from the rest of cs*

TBH all that will happen though is what usually happens with these E petitions, an email will get sent round basically saying, the govts is never wrong, we arent doing anything blah blah
no harm trying though
has anyone any example of one e petition where the govt. has taken it onboard?

dont see the point in signing lol, nout to do with the farmer thing, just its not like the goverment pays any attension lol.
Look at the petition over the new road charges that every one signed, got over a million sigs on it.
Then got an email saying basically we have read the petition bla bla bla but we are going to do what we want any way.
:/.
unless something did come of it after the email, i stopped looking into it after that.

I think garages should get compensation from the governent for the time we waste speaking to little chavs that come in asking questions like:
"ow much is it like to put a redtop in me corsa laik aye, cos a mates mate can do hiz own enjin mownts for laik twenty squid and fit it for free undred quid, can yoo beat dat price bruv? "

Dave you are way wide of the mark. If you are not interested in compensating farmers for someone elses error then please cause trouble elsewhere.
If your brother isn't bothered because he is loaded then I'm happy for him but this thread isn't about your brother or indeed you.

well so far I am the only person that has put a genuine comment forward from a farmer. Sickens me these days, everyone is after compo for everything. Farmers have insurance that covers this exact eventuality, if they dont then tough, they should have it.

I'm putting forward a genuine comment from a farmer.
http://www.geraud.co.uk/geraudliverpool.html - Lark Lane 22nd Sept
http://www.prestonfarmersmarket.com/ - 23rd Sept
My mate couldn't attend either of these because he had nothing to sell because he had not been able to move and therefore slaughter any animals.
Whether everyone else is after compo is outside the scope of this discussion. He lost money because an under-resourced, badly managed government facility released a disease in to the wild.
I'm the first person to say compo culture is bad - you really should read my other post son the matter if you want my standpoint, but in this instance I do feel there is a genuine issue present.
And regarding insuring your way out of it - no - why the hell should anyone pay an insurance premium to cover negligence on the part of another agency who themselves have not been held accountable or indeed used their own insurance arrangements to cover the knock-on effects of their actions.
