Not so much a waste of time more then fact that in some cases they try and make up there own laws, granted alot of the time people are in the wrong

Its the principle

im sure your not allowed to film someone without there permission though

thats why theres all that legal jargon when buying cctv systems saying its against the law to intentionally film someone

Yeah its all a bit muddled up, dont think they have sorted the law yet. But as far as im aware its illegal to film anyone without permision. And i have seen many a time at cruises when the police have asked for the video phones recordings to be deleted, and all photos taken of them. Maybe just makes them feel more important

why does it say in loads of places that its illegal to film people without there permission then? something to do with privacy, if i set up a camera pointing into next door neighbours house spying on them im sure i wouldnt get away with that if the police found out

Probably because he was on his own property.

At a cruise, you are on public property.

What that has to do with it I do not know, because you can't batter a burglar who is robbing you.

No idea, but clearly it wasn't a crime for that bloke to film the police, or he would have been arrested.

Maybe the law has changed since that was filmed.

its no illegal to record, its illegal to display images without a person permission so i was told the other day by a secuirty guard. A guy came in kicking off that he was being recorded on CCTV in store.

And apparently he can ask for the tape, and you have to give it to them, if it soley shows their image. If it has anyone else in it you can refuse
