Right now this is a bit of a rant and in a way i hope that someone from Regal actually see`s this.

Some of you may rember a few months ago corsa-c.co.uk had a rolling road day at Regal in Southampton.

I went along in my corsa and decided that i would get a remap done, was a bit of an impulse buy and tbh dont know why i did it.

I was told that I/We who had remaps done were getting £50 off of the remap. Sounded gd to me so went along with it. I got charged £245 for the remap.

I got it all done and it felt a bit better and alot more noticble in 4th and 5th gear. Got home and was happy enough untill i was looking through total vauxhall and saw that the price of a remap for the Z14XE was £250 from regal, so why had i been charged £245 with the suposed £50 off?

I straight away emailed Regal to note them of this thinking they may have made a genuine mistake. I recieved no reply so after about a week i emailed them again. Again no reply. 5 emails later with no reply`s i wasent best happy so decided to ring them.

The outcome of this is what really annoyed me, they answered fine and started to say what had happened when suddenly the phone went dead, thought it may of just been my mobile or something so rang back to carry on from where i left off saying my case to be hung up on, then rang back again and straight away when they aswered and i spoke they hung up again.

Now if thats what they call customer service, ohh dear, they need some serious training in that department.

So at the end of this i am £45 out of pocket and just genrally pissed off. It may only be £45 but still that isnt the point. its all about the principle. (sp)

Sorry for the rant but i think its worth people to know how they dealt with me as a customer!

TBH getting a remap on a 1.4 isn't worth it anyway so you shouldn't have bothered.

BUT there's no excuse for stuff like this.

Regal are known to be cowbys, you sould see how much they charge for a generic remap and yet do not even put it on the rollers

Some of the horror stories you see on AOC is amazing yet people still go to them. Whats even more funny is how favourable their rollers are.

For the same money or maybe less a decent live map can be done by a more reputable outfit.

I was looking in a mag last week at what they can do with the new VXR and i was impressed.

The same mag also ran a feature on them with a stage 2 kit (i think) and rated them highly!

The problem you have is that the sale is actually quite legal. They're well within their rights to quote a price, have you accept, and sell you something.

If you've not shopped around for a better price, even from the same supplier than this is caveat emptor, not anything dodgy by the company.

It smells, but its not illegal.

Putting the phone down is likewise not illegal. Just plain bad. Not sure what they're going to say though - yes we had you off. There's not much more detail they have to supply to you tbh.

If you're in business then you might expect a number of positive sales. The negative ones usually tell you a lot more about the company.

i would question the legality of the sale.

if i walked into argos and saw 50% off tv's on the posters, i bought one, then saw in the catalog the tv's were actually that price anyway before the discount, thats not allowed under sales of goods somewhere im sure

In order to advertise something as reduced it has to be have been available for purchase for a time already at the higher price, but I'm sure that's where the invitation to treat is done on signs and stuff. You see it in small print on them.

Pricing differently for different markets is called price discrimination and happens all over the place. Train tickets being the best example. They're more expensive at 8am than 3pm because of who is buying them.

A remap will sell for more to someone who is there and has the impulse than someone reading a mag. Its just a different price for different markets.

Suppose we need to dig out the discount rules see how that affects things.

Its like buying something then next the same item being on sale.

Whats to say they hadn't reduced the price since you purchased it?
