all depends, at that altitude it would be greatly harder to control that then if at high altitude

I know, I was joking anyway, without knowing the damage the bird had done, it's impossible to comment properly

i would have thought they'd been able to do an emergency landing considering there only a few 100 ft off the deck
Still, they've got all this weaponary and a single bird can bring down a £25million plane

from what i can see on the HUD they are doing 130 knots, they have sod all alititude as well and engine flare out, to attempt a landing in those conditions is suicide.

I've seen a video of an F16 (I think) that has a mid air with another plane. The other pilot ejects and the plane crashes, but the first pilot decides to try and land.................he does and when he gets out realises he only has one wing!
Fook!

i must admit im shocked. i was trained to fly back when i was 16 with the ATC, one of the lessons was E-FARTOs(Engine Failures After Tako Off) and hence taught wot to do with what height should it happen. airfields should be designed with EFARTO style crashes either end of the run way. this pilot clearly thought he'd have enuf height to turn 180 and land on the runway (admittidly going the wrong way) - but obv not in this case!!
v odd! and a huge waste of aircraft!

??? He didnt have the altitude, its not a fucking cesna. Look at the airspeed as the plane stalls, they didnt have a choice in the matter.
