Im told with induction and exhaust system they do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds

I have always liked jap cars but until i can afford an evo i think a tuned 1.3 turbo will do

if you tune them say goodbye to fuel comsumption. My mate had a gt one running about 230bhp ish.
He got 8 miles to a quarteer of a tank once. Think we working out to be about 2mpg

Great little cars though

My mate has one and in a few weeks it will be running just over 200lb/tq 170+ bhp. He is seriously going to munch road! I cant wait!

Standard they run at about 135bhp ish. Not sure on standard boost, my mates now running a bar boost. In standard form they are on par with XE Corsa's. Trust me, this was tried and tested on many occasions. On a private road / Track of course

my mates was running 1.2 bar . If you slipped the clutch, this thing was honestly like a bullet. You could deffo supprise alot of car sailing past them

Only when he sorted out the boosting in 1st and 2nd though as i had him when big gev was a little nippa!

1.3 turbo - silly bhp its going to break alot and at end of the day jap parts cost ££

Yeah this is true. De-restricting 1st and 2nd gear is a must!

How do you work that one out? My mates gets abused just like any other car and it has never gone wrong and never misses a beat. Jap company's know how to build a car right, Toyota are a great manufactuer.

As P1CK4D says. theres no truth to that. My mate melted a coulpe of pistons, due to it running lean and getting det. Pistons were only £30 a go from toyota and a complete gasket set was under £100. Nailed it back together and never had any more problems with it. Ran it in on 1.2bar again
