Thinking of going to new york from 28th December, for a week.
Wanting to spend New Years Eve there, and was wondering if anybody has been there before for new years?
Where did you stay, what did you spend?
Can get flights for just under £370, which isnt that bad, but accomodation is the killer, would want anything less than 3 star to be honest, going to have a browse on the web shortly and have a look at various places to stay, but have you got anywhere to reccomend?
Thinking the budget would be around £1000, £400 flights with travel insurance, and £200 on somewhere to stay, plus £400 spends?
Does this sound about right?
Thanks for any help xx

Been a few times got family in NY. Hotels are expensive mate, Herald Square is really good if your on a budget but it's still around 80-90 quid a night.

You can order them by price. The cheapest was £68 per night. I think it would be shit for that too

The Bronx isn't too bad now, depends where abouts you go but it's got to be in Manhattan, mid town is the best place to stay IMO.

Been in Summer and Winter (early Jan). I usually stay here...Go for the queen room, get lcd tv, queen size bed etc, it's in a great location (2 blocks from Macy's/Empire etc)..
http://www.heraldsquarehotel.com/
Is good value for the area, all the other places are 2-3-4 times as much.
