My mum is getting rid of her old shape TT and wants something a bit nicer. She is quite a slow driver and is definately not interested in out and out performance, mainly something to pose in but that will also be nice to drive. She does a fair few miles so doesnt want something that does ridiculously low mpg either.
Shes been obsessed with porsche's for years so is looking at 2nd hand 911's (996 model maybe, im not clued up on the numbers apart froim the 911 bit ), she is also thinking about the new shape TT, and has also seen a BMW Z4 hardtop that she likes.
A new skyline drove past me earlier and i think its stunning, but i looked on the nissan website and its still listed as a concept car, so any ideas how to go about getting info/prices on them?
Are TVRs really as bad as people say they are? The T350 is in her price range with reasonable mileage...
Ferrari F355? Any other suggestions?!

if she is a slow driver then the cars ur talking about seem a bit much for her!!

go for something decent that will hold its value!!
new shape merc slk!! gorgeous car and will hold its value well!!

not sure if u did see the real skyline considering theres about 4 prototypes in existant and im doubting theres one over here on the actual roads. There be around 50+k whern they come out aparently

Thats what I thought about the skyline, ive never seen one on the roads before but it definately said skyline on the back, wasnt the old shape one, and looked like the new one! Maybe it was imported?

Something like a S2000, 350z, Z4 or Merc SLK would be perfect for her

SLK is a good compromise as is the z4. Depends just how 'flashy' it needs to be as those two are only slightly more flashy than a tt imo but the mpg issue and lack of actual use of the cars power and handling abilities then it's ot worth getting anything to ott like a tvr. a 996 c2 might be an option depending if she's a new-reg snob or not.

New TT with a 2.0 TDi or Turbo engine.

I wasn't keen, but the interior and seats look really nice. Friend has bought one and I had a good nose round it. FAR better than the old TT.

As Daimo said, a TDi new TT or a CDi Merc of some description - CLK or SLK.

Im browsing the 996's on pistonheads at the moment, a few with the factory fitted body kits that look really nice, and less than £30k. Im not keen at all on the SLKs so im trying to put her off them New TT is nice, yes, but I can see it being just as common as the old one in a year or two.

Hello Ed! Corsa went to garage today for MOT work, I will be back in Aber tonight or tomorrow lunchtime

She doesnt like the evo, not posey enough for her. Im starting to like the idea of the Porsche 996 with the aero kit on it...
