I have this site in my Favourites Warren:
http://www.workpermit.com/australia/temporary/working_holiday_visa.htm
A girl I know is going out there at the end of the year, and i've just started looking into it really. I think you need to save about 1.5k to get you through the first couple of months and to prove you can get home again

i want to go for a year 'back packing' as they say
i would get a working visa and try and get a jobs out there to earn money
basicaly all i have found out so far is that, you NEED £2200 in the bank, for a working visa, which for seven months is only £11 a day!!
the cost to get there is around £400 (so £800 return)
i think £4000 is about what i will need, and if i come home with money, result!!
money isnt a problem, as i have £3000 saved up atm, but still with 2 cars too sell, but i do want my astra turbo when i come back, so dont want to spend all of it!!!
the main thing im trying to find out is, where to meet people, as i dont realy want to be in a forien country and know no one!
and where do you stay???!!!?
and where to go and what too see

stay in hostels, they are the best place by far, so cheap (about £10 a night), and you meet some great people and friends for life.
Its so like england over there but 100 times better.
I did the east coast but only had 3 weeks off work and spent £1700 inc flights. Wasnt tight with money but made sure i did all the attractions etc.

that would be great Phillipa, the main thing i would want to no is where to start out, and any website that you can meet people one, so like theres a group of you flying out together etc etc
i guess once your out there, people will tell you wheres the sights are, places to go and see. More interested in where i would stay and the cost!
and also, how hard is it to get a job, as iv heard that its very hard to find a job out there???
and what the hell do you take in your one big bag!! cant exactly fit much in it for a week tell along a year!! lol
