let me set the scene, I work in a garage as a parts man.
my car needs new disks, pads, 2 cv boots and a caliper so I asked my service manager about a week and a half ago if I could put my car on the ramp 1 day this week after work so i can do the work there instead of on the ground, he said yeah.
when i went to ask him on monday there if Thursday would be alright as 1 of the technicians are doing there own car he told me i wasnt gettin to put my car on the ramp. I questioned this as i have had my car on the ramp severaly times before he just started bein a dick so we were arguing and i just told him to shove it up his arse and walked away. my manager then had a bit of a go at me for it and we ended up arguing.
So now i have a disciplinary meeting with the 2 managers i was arguing with and a guy from HR in 1 hour!!!
I've had a few warnings in the past but never formal warnings.
anyways what do you think will happen? am i lookin at job cantre on monday ?? lol

You will probably get a written warning as they may include your last warnings as verbal.

If I said NO to my mechanics/staff about using the ramps and they argued back I wouldnt be too happy either.
explain the situation, be appologetic and dont argue. you should be fine.

Dave that would be fine but he said yes to me the previous week and also I have been on the ramps lots of times so surely I should never be allowed on or always not just when it suits him... it just annoys me so much

your boss said no. thats all that matters, what has gone on before is irrelevant.

sounds like things are not being done right to me, you need 24 hours written notice, offered a right to representation and there is no way on earth the 2 managers should be involved.

This has happened to me, i could use work ramps before but now the gaffer has decided he doesn't want anyone using them.. fair enough really as he is the boss.
Cam just face the music bud. It's too petty a thing to lose a job on.

maybe because he is parts store staff and not qualified to use them, probably not had any formal training to use them?

I think you should consider yourself lucky that you used them before and put up with being told no this time.
Probably the only thing that has changed your bosses opinion on whether you should have that privilege, which if you're arguing would be no.
You have to remember, if anything goes wrong, your bosses will get in trouble as well as you for letting you do it. If someone injured, stuff is damaged etc. you'll probably find that insurance policies etc. would not cover this type of thing.

Final written? That's a bit harsh, especially as you say you've never had any formal warning in the past.
It's usually a verbal, written, and then final written. Sounds like they want you out TBH.

What was a sackable offence? Arguing with your manager or using the ramps?
