Right just back from a wee holiday....
Volvo s40 T4 turbo, fully laden 2 adults and 2 kids, full boot and roof box with 3 full suitcases in it...
Done 811 miles in total, 90% motorway miles and my average fuel consumption was............25.1 MPG
I did notice though if I sat about 80-85MPH it was down at about 22.9, sitting at 70-75 was getting just over 25MPG
Think this is poor but i suppose with full car and roof box etc not too bad.
Spent about £130 on V power in total i think...
Opinions?

Doesn't worry me just thought would get opinions on it, i didn't buy the car to get good fuel consumption, it's usually alot lower than that around the town....

Pretty normal MPG to be honest Mav... Volvos are always quite thirsty and take into account the extra weight and the slab shaped thingy ma bob on the roof I'd say you did alright..

In my (Calibra) V6, I spend £30 on petrol on a 240 mile round trip. Not sure what that equates to in MPG terms, but it's actually better on fuel than my old Astra!
The above is doing an average of 80-90mph though, I get better fuel consumption if I stay at 70mph...

The above is mostly motorway driving obviously, I don't tend to do 80mph down the High Street BTW!
