I did take it for a test drive and it felt ok (altho nothing feels fast anymore ) but I couldnt really kick the shit out of it with some clown of a salesman next to me!
Pleased with my purchase tho, just couldnt bring myself to buy something too sensible!

Now for the sensible reply although the above was very true, luckily BMW covered 6-7k's worth under warrenty (04 plate, 12k miles when I had it - new gearbox, s/c, sunroof etc list went on).
Was quiet good fun to drive, nippy in town, handled well for FWD, build quality was far better than CTR, Seat etc etc pic below..

Also thought the insurance group (19) is silly for the performance IMHO.

Not what I wanted to hear! I always thought they were quite good! What problems did you have Nik? Im hoping cos this is 18 months old (with a 5 year extended warranty) I'll be ok!
Its gonna be my day to day runabout so it needs to be reliable!

In all fairness BMW are VERY good with their warrenties so long as you have plenty left I wouldn't worry too much mate. The gearboxes are a bit soft though although I think the newer ones are stronger, mine was borderline on a 2004 IIRC. Apart from these problems it was fine

Looks great that Nik!!! Altho Im hoping any problems my car may have had will be all sorted now, Ive got the warranty anyway (sort of glad I paid a bit more to have the 5 years now!!!!)
Like I say, I just need a comfy, solid, day to day runabout for work and size isnt really an issue anymore with my new job role. To be honest the mini isnt my favourite hot hatch - For me it would be a Clio Sport, 106GTI etc etc something stripped, light and balls out but Ive got the TVR for that sort of stuff!
Cheers for the replies guys!
