The graduate with a Science degree asks, "Why does it work?"

The graduate with an Engineering degree asks, "How does it work?"

The graduate with an Accounting degree asks, "How much will it cost?"

The graduate with a Liberal Arts degree asks, "Do you want fries with that?"

So you'll do anything. I'd be tempted to focus on one area, they'll be able to tell within seconds at an interview if you've no idea what you want to do.

Whats you background? Good a-levels? Which Uni? Good extracirriculars?

why would you want a history, science or engineering job if you've done business, and vise-versa.

And if you cant get a business related job over someone who didnt do a business degree then you need to look at how your applying for them

Makes no difference what degree you did for 90% of grad roles. Banking/finance/law (where the money is at) take on grads from any discipline, more concerned with your academic record and a willingness to learn.

Im certain if you went for a business/finance related job (I know law is a totally different kettle of fish) then someone with a business degree would easily get the job over someone with a history degree for instance.

If not there wouldnt be specific degrees, you'd just go on and do a general degree and then all fight for whatever job you want.

Absolutely not. I work in a business/finance role for one of the top 5 grad employers in the country and we take on people from every background imaginable, from Ancient History graduates to guys with PHDs in astro physics and everything in between.

And the same applies to the entire spectrum of banking/finance employers.

kind of makes doing a specific degree pointless then. Should of done a shitty easy one, got a top top grade and then gone on to do whatever you want.

With all due respect to anyone who chose to do it, IMO something generic like business management is one of the easiest degrees to score well in, much more so than something quantitative.

It all fits into a bigger picture. The decent firms (ie those that don't advertise 'graduate' roles as a way of getting cheap labour) know exactly what they're looking for and they want a whole range of people and skills.
