How long did it take you to feel relaxed about driving, wether long journeys or short journeys??
i went through a stage of feeling completely relaxed and really keen
But since my 2nd test failier ive felt nothing but nerves and worrying about having a crash! its starting to scare me
Ive just been out driving on a route ive done a few times and got to the mini roundabout, and some t*at (young boyracer') in his crap car went straight over the roundabout(with me right literally next to the middle of the roundabout) he was doing about 50 and didnt ackowledge anyone at all! and i had to emergancy stop because he nearly hit me! he didnt even slow down!!! i just screamed and then stalled then Cried then realised i was in the middle of the road and had to carry on!!!
its made me so angry and annoyed at people like that! its proper scared me now :-( im lucky no-one (except a moped who was behind but not right up the back of my car) was right up behind me, as they would have definitely gone into back of me!!!!
Ive been taking Rescue Remedy and everything to help me lately ready for my test on monday and im just a bag of nerves thinking about it and other road users!
Sorry for the essay!

Passed, felt (too) relaxed and then crashed (my own fault).
Still felt relaxed after that but still took it easy as like the saying goes...its only once youve passed that you really start to learn.

I think they give licenses way too easily, they are giving people the license to kill and you get that until your 70. Its mental there should be tests every 10 years for everyone.
Stick with it hun, you will get comfortable.
It took me about 4 months (after someone wrote my 1st car off for me 3 days after passing my test) to get properly comfortable. But i literally spent those months driving constantly

Failed once, confidence was dented.
Failed twice, felt like dying.
Third time decided that all I could do was my best, had a few more lessons and tryed not to think about it too much.
Just try and relax concentrate on what your doing and whats around you, but not about what could happen if you crash etc.
If you already have a car, just get someone who can sit in with you and drive somewhere without many cars, get your confidence back up.

You want to try being on a bike that wakes you up and makes you 100% concentrate. Also helps you be more aware of your surroundings when in a car

the most nervous driving i ever had was my driving test itself, then later that day when i drove on my own for the first time. been driving going on 2 years now and as with alot of people its second nature but it wasn't like that at all for a long time. driving the work van helps with confidence when i'm back in my corsa because its so small and easy to drive

Driving test is nerve racking..My leg would not stop shaking had to dig me heel into floor..
There is alot of arseholes on the road and you have to get used to them and get over them....The more driving you do the better you will feel, the confidence will grow through time...

I was OK on my driving test.
Was doing it in my own car so was happy with the amount of driving I had done and was really used to it. Got what was rumoured to be the worst guy taking me out, but got chatting to him along the way and ended up finding out all about him, his family, his grandchildren, etc.
Test lasted only about 20-25mins in total, but passed first time no worries!

failed my first test cos an Africab cut me up and i paniced a bit.
second test i had hardly any problems, i did help that i had been driving since i was 13 stupid i know but i wasnt a prick about it, had to be as least conspicious as possible so alwasy drove sensibly. made me a better driver for when i did my test.

Crash in to some stuff for fun, that'll get you past your fear of crashing in to stuff.
Start off with little parking bumps, just put the clutch in and roll at first. Then if you get good at those you can try a bit of changing lanes at junctions while there is stuff in the way. They usually move.

I was relaxed about it as soon as I passed.
Took me 5 attempts at my test though as I kept failing on silly little things

The one bad thing about women drivers:-
Spacial awareness

LOL Cosmo
Been driving a month tomorrow, and have to say i feel more than comfortable, however can't let myself get cocky.
I have done 3 or 4 100 mile plus trips and they went fine, town driving is what i find more nerve racking as most twats round here fly around the corners....had a few near misses not of my own fault !

The time it took me to put my belt on, start the engine and pull away from the kerb on my first lesson. Couldn't see the big deal really. Car was doing the same thing it always does, only I was on the other side and had a bit more input than normal.

You'll be fine phi the more you get used to it!
I passed second time, then the following morning drove to work on the m4 during rush hour for the first time ever
It all comes with experience, and dont worry about the ass holes... they are usually the people you see again a few miles up the road in a ditch or pulled by the police!

People should be made to ride a moped for a year before taking their driving test.
I drove my moped from my 16th birthday until I passed my driving test and done 20,000Km's on it, riding here there and everywhere at 55mph, trips to Hayling Island, by the time I had to get into a car I was superbly confident.
Passed first time... twice.
