...his dad has released the pictures to the media to show how badly it was handled.

And to the people who said he drowned, read the part to picture 5.

its a bit harsh having a go at the emergency services.
Firstly, how many calls must they of had that day so cant blame their response times, maybe look into the dickheads ringing for stupid reasons because f the flood. Secondly how often have they come across flooding like this to have any clue what to do in this situation? And thirdly who were the ones in the water with him, risking their lives trying to help.

Think about it this way. The father would have probably released those pictures to show what heros the firemen were if he hadn't of died. It's rediculous that he is using those pictures to show that the rescue attempt was a mess. It was an unusual, an very unfortunate accident that he got stuck. Then at the end of it he died of hypothermia, so I guess the doctors are to blame too because he died in hospital

So the firemen are always right just because thats the common conception? the same way the police are always in the wrong?
They make mistakes as well and with the amount of time available he should have been out that water, with his foot or otherwise.

There is no way that the poor sod should have ever died. fact.

so firemen, from a place where floods are as rare as hens teeth, should know how to free someone caught in a drain in a neck height flood?
Should they also learn how to protect people if a herd of wilder beasts rampage through a city? Or how to get an elephant off a man?

get a grip FFS. 4 fuckin hours to free a mans foot from a drain?
Accidents dont follow any suit or protocol, but the services are trained in various methods and strategy to deal with what they are have been called to. Granted, a fellas foot stuck in a drain with rising flood waters is far from ideal, but it shouldnt have resulted in death.

it obviously wasnt as simple as just freeing a trapped foot, as he could of done that himself without the firemen!!

so everytime they fail they are to blame? It wasnt down to the slight possibility that 4hrs wasnt long enough to free him from an obviously bad situation?
Everytime someone dies in hospital is it down to the doctors being at fault? Or might that person not be able to be saved.

i think pointing fingurs blaming people is a little distastefull and inopropriate (sp)
at the end of the day it was fast flowing water around him , not a still lake.
it obiviousley wasent as easy as you would think.
(sp)
p.s i blame the jews

No one was to blame, the firefighters done all the could, think they struggled for 4 hours if they could have freed him easily???
