there is a stigma that relates to xe corsa's the apparant commonness, the fact they are worst handling car on road and always breaking down, well this is the general feeling i get from this forum so my question is,
Do you actually like your xe and why
i mean personally i have had such minimal problems with my xe its been thrashed the shit out of for 2 1/2 years and just keeps going, only problem being afm so far, in my opinion it torque steers yes but i actually LOVE the fact it does its a fight to keep in the twisties big FUN factor, i mean i once drove one which felt nervous and twitchy under hard braking something was not right with it but mine dont seem have that nervousnous.
i have driven recently a 370bhp scooby sti, porsche carrera 4 and of course had my astra gsi lowered eibach springs and had live map etc upto just shy of 250bhp but even though each is way way way better than my xe corsa could ever dream of being something makes me not want to sell the corsa ever.
whats your thoughts owners

I liked mine, until a bottom pulley bolt came loose which has led to a full top end rebuild after 3 weeks of having it put in!
They are good fun though, torque steer nearly caught me out first time i booted it.

best car ive owned, on my coilovers it handles like a dream and as for it breaking down ive had a flat battery once due to a fucked fuel pump relay cant eactly fault the car for something i should have replaced, ive got plenty of mates with xe corsas and a few tigras now and weve had no problems at all with them and anyone that they have had lots of problems should really get there conversion done better next time

As long as money is spent in the right places Nova/Corsa 2.0's can handle really well.
If you just drop a 2.0 in without bothering with anything else its gonna handle wank.

i had a 16v nova, never broke drown on me once, untill i came to sell it 
handled alright too, drove worse car's for handling

they will never handle amazing, corsas havent got the right suspension setup, or weight balance to handle amazingly
as AK he spent loads on his corsa and still thought the almost standard 205 was better round the track lol

dont own one but i have driven a few...they are fuckin ace ! wish i had gone all the way with mine when i changed from a 1.4 8v to 1.6 16v.
i would still consider doing it now if the funds and a decent xe was avalible

feels like you actually in control on the corsa, you get so much more of a feel for the car. The astra just feels too safe lol

i love my xe... it has had a few problems. numerous oil leaks and a few bearings but other than that it has been awesome.

I love mine, don't feel as confident going into corners at speed yet as did with the 1.2 but i think thats got something to do with coming quicker to the corner.
It can be a hand full and the total opposite depends how you want to drive it.
Had a few teething problems with mine (to be expected) but now on 1100miles without a problem (touch wood)

what? loads of cash on some AVO coilovers and some massive breaks on a standard master cylinder, all the cash in that car went on a very naughty engine.

Spend the money in the right places and a 2ltr corsa will feel great round corners. I had
LEDA Coilovers
Whiteline ARB
Quaiff diff
Alright tyres
and it did the world of good, always room for improvement though
