Just got a bill of £73 for a phone that ran out in May, Rang them up and theyve said I didnt ring up to cancel the contract (that I took out for 12 months only) and they are trying to say its still active and i said well cancel it then and he said it will be cancelled in 30 days from today which means my bill will go up to £108. I got a phone call in march asking do I want to upgrade and I said no, i wont be staying with 3 when my contract runs out in May, the fella said ok fine, and i thought that was that, but now 3 are saying thats a 3rd party company and nothing to do with 3
Where do I stand, ive asked to speak 2 the manager and supposedly ringin me back in an hour

if you have proof you cancelled it and account was clear don't pay it....They will chase you for it though...

Have to pay I'm afraid. All the contract does is show that you are tied to it for 12 months. After that your free to leave without any penalties but you have to let them know. Same on all networks AFAIK

Basically you took a 12 month contract, but they will continue after that 12 month contract until you decide to cancel. And yeah, it takes a month to cancel, and each payment is taken out in advanced so you will be charged more unfortunately. You won't get anywhere by saying that you told the guy you were not going to stay with them, you need to confirm that you will cancel. Unlucky dude

If you call up the customer services and tell them that you are in a bit of financial trouble (not necessarily true ha) and would like to pay this charge up monthly, they may be able to sort something out.

1 Month after i got my contract my phone stopped recieving incoming calls rang them and 3 months and lots of phone calls later they finally collected my phone for repair, 2 months later got it back with a note saying the damage is my fault and nothing they can do got to laugh tho

Did you actually call them up and say that you wanted to cancel before? Or something along those lines?

A young indian chap tried to sell me a 3 phone last night, i spent 35 minutes on the phone with him, giving him all my details, and then he asked for the bank card at this point I said "WHY its free?" He gave some shit about not taking money from the account.

If you are still on the call, and you DID actually call them up before and request to cancel, and they are saying you didn't... Simply tell them that you are aware that all calls are recorded and you would like that to be passed on to your solicitor because it is a verbal agreement between both parties.

I got a call off someone who led me to believe they was 3 asking do I want to upgrade, I said no when my contract ends in May I no longer want to stay with 3, Ive said just now if he led me to believe that id cancelled it why couldnt he explain that I hadnt and then put me through to the right department to cancel, apparently it doesnt work like that and I have to make the call to them. I didnt make the call thinking it was already done

Just got legal advice then and hes told me to get a transcript of the call made in March, but he reckons they may be within there rights cos if it says in the Ts&Cs that I need to call a certain department to cancel then its my fault that I havent, althought ive informed 3 i havent told the correct department. Gutted.
