alright - in need of some help and advice, was on a main road earlier doing abuot 35 on a 30 road, a copper was then on my arse n i dropped to 30. I pulled over and he stopped behind me...
I got out the car etc and he says to me why do you think ive pulled you, i said insurance check he goes nah u were speeding i think you were doing between 40-50mph, he then asked if it was my car i said yeh its my car, asked for my license so gave it to him, checked insurance and then asked how many points ive got already, i said three, he then said how long you bin drivin, i said 1 year and 8 months he then said your getting a ban n all this shit...
while i was talking to this officer the other one helped himself to the drivers door and started looking and touchin inside the car asking me a million questions as to how long ive had it etc,
he then said ill be expecting a letter, he didnt give me any docs or anything just took my driver number and address inside a little black book. Normally i get a slip saying they've checked insurance etc. Basically im confused, feel up etc.... any help?

hes talkin bollocks mate, if your were done for speeding he would have made you sign a statement and read you your rights and would have to have shown you proof or you would have to have admitted it

If youve not been cautioned i believe your ok!
I got cautioned for my number plates last week and given a £30 fine. I think you should be ok - they havent given you any producers or anything, theyve not given you any documents with their badge numbers etc on which they have to do. Did they make you sit in the back of the car and see the film at all?

if you get a letter which i doubt you will send it back! if you never signed anything then hes being a c**t!
if you were doing 35 and he said your doing 50 then hes having you over cos he will have no proof of it!

There was a copper round here that used to pull attractive ladies over, right down their address in his black book and then turn up on their door step a few days later to try and shag them

If you weren't read your rights then you'll be ok even if anything does come of it - I'm sure it's protocol that if you are suspected of anything (in your case - speeding) then they have to read you your rights or it'll end up getting thrown out of court by any half decent lawyer.
Sound like they were bored, saw an easy target and decided to put the shits up you to be honest.

I'm wanting to go on attachment with Roads Policing Unit (i.e. Traffic)
If you were speeding (most likely 26mph ABOVE the speed limit) you won't get a thing at the roadside - you will get a court summons through the post and WILL get a ban (seeing as you've been driving less than 24 months and have 3 points already) - The officer doesn't HAVE to show you proof or give you any paperwork.
However you should have been given a Notice of Intended Prosecution at the roadside - it can be verbal "...you are being reported for the consideration of prosecuting you for x...."
This is NOT a caution. It is a NIP - two different things.
Sounds like he was just warning you over your speed - manner of driving?
No way to know - summons can take upto 6 months to arrive in the post. If you weren't NIP'd verbally at the roadside the police have until 14 days from the date of the offence to NIP you through the post.
Hope this helps...
