Sold a concert ticket on ebay on the 16th!

For a gig that was on the 24th of this month

the buyer never contacted me for about 3 days then wanted to pay via cheque on the 19th (saturday)

I refused and said it wouldnt clear in time etc etc

he then says oh il use paypal! so I send item on monday!

....................

anyway, email him to ask how the gig was...

his reply

the ticket did not get to me on time, so i require a refund, as i missed the gig. you said you'd post it immediately, i paid on sat nite 19/5 and the attempt at posting wasnt made until the 24th the day of the gig. i was at work and so obviously i couldnt have signed for it, if you've have sent it first class on sat 19th it wouldve got to me in plenty of time, i will be sending the ticket back to you expecting a full refund as it is your fault for sending the ticket too late.

How is it my fault?

I have a receipt somewhere! he never asked for any particular type of postal service! But if he'd have paid earlier on it wouldnt have been rushy!

I just dont want to be having neg feedback for no reason! I sold the ticket for £10 due to not being able to go, so i lost £7 already!

Ask for the ticket first, he might have gone and be attemtping to scam you.

Then find the reciept and prove that you sent it in plenty of time and it's the Royal Mail's fault.

Do this, and then you won't get bad feedback.

If he wasn't there to sign for it on the day of the concert, who's to say he would have been there to sign for it on the Monday/Tuesday?

Sounds like he went to me.

it says "i was at work so couldn't have signed for it" so it must have been sent recorded. If it has won't royal mail have a record that it wasn't signed for that day? if they do then its tough shit, not your fault he wasn't in to sign for it, although you could have let him know when it was sent etc.

You need the ticket back, to prove that he didn't got. He may have gone to the concert and then say he didn't, demanding a refund, so he effectively went for free!

what will happen is he will make a claim through paypal, not sure how he will do it as there isn't many options, i know of goods not recieved, and goods not as described. Anyway, he will make a claim, you then object it and then you say why and paypal reviews it, and can ask for evidence from either party. If you have evidence you sent it recorded on a set date then i can't see him getting his money back. It's paypal though so you never know.
Someone is claiming, iten not described against me, paypal have been reviewing it for about a month.

Get the ticket back to prove that it hasn't been used..

Could you have sent it quicker so it would have arrived before the day of the concert, if you could have you should have as ticket turning up on the day of the concert is not good if you miss postie etc or not in..If it arrived a few days before least he could have got it at depot if he wasn't there to sign for it..Don't know the timescales though maybe you couldn't get it there any quicker.???

Because he could be billy bullshitting? He could be a jobless bum, been home all day, signed for the ticket and gone to the concert. Come home, claimed that he never received the ticket in time, you give him £10 refund no questions, and the concert ticket didn't cost him anything.

but the item was won on the 16th and he failed to contact me until the 19th right before I was heading off to work! he wanted to pay via cheque and I said il relist as a one day auction as a cheque wont clear in time, he decided he'd use paypal then! so we continued the transaction!
I sent it monday, I dont see what i've done wrong, I think i'd physically have to rip his head off for being so dumb if i met him in person!

I get what you're saying mate,,,

BUT... he's already stated that the ticket arrived before the concert
soo.. in actual fact it was out of my hands that he wasn't there to recieve it! by requesting him to send the ticket to me, im offering a refund

No, you're just getting proof that he hasn't used the ticket. If it is useless to you, it's also useless to him so he doesn't need it.

Ensure that in all your communication which you can relay to eBay/PayPal that you need the ticket back for proof that it hasn't be used, not that your going to offer a refund.

Serves him right for being a nonce IMO.

If you buy a ticket for a gig that's soon, if you had any sense you'd pay for it ASAP to get it sent in plenty of time. Considering Paypal takes a couple of days to clear (not sure how long exactly but i presume it's not instant), paying on a saturday when the bank'/s arent open seems stupid, and even still the post office closes quite early, so if you were at work you wouldn't be able to send it recorded.

You sent it first class on monday, so it should have been there for Tue/Wed really - not your fault it didn't.
