Anyone ever done one before? Never been there before so looking for info on places to go, places to stay, cheap flights etc etc. Looking into doing this with a large group of people august time.

well, i was gonna be doing a quiet day as was the wife to be. All of the hen group are going clubbing etc now so ive been given permission to go to amsterdam for a whole weekend. Result

Fantastic place.
Been twice and had a fantastic time both time's I went. Hotel I stayed in was right in't middle of Red Light district and was spot on, 24 hour Bar, let about 20 of us stay in a group, breakfast every morning

i went to amsterdam once, we got so baked in the morning we went to bed in the afternoons and got up evening times, we were there for 3 days but it felt like a week

Amsterdam rules... go to a coffe shop... do summat touristy... back to the coffee shop, munchies, lunch, coffee shop, touristy thing, back to hotel, bars, coffee shop, munchies, bed
I tell ya what... anne franks mueseum and the boat trip are awesome when ur off ur tree LMAO!!

I was in Amsterdam and Brussels over Christmas just gone. In Amsterdam go to the Grasshopper by the station, there is a fit barmaid in there who is of MILF named Shakira I think LOL, anyway we all wanted to bang her there and then! 
I'll try and get a pic of her off my mate at some point!
But anyways, lots of drinking and smoking establishments, just be careful of the immigrants in the red light district trying to sell you drugs on virtually every street corner, they are annoying but if you ignore them you will be fine.

I dont mean I found the museam funny, just my general state at the time

Yeah but beware not to blank them... just mumble no ta and they leave u alone! The best coffee shop we foudn was right next to the grasshopper... cafe baba!! Has a cat that lives there

LOL, Grasshopper is a nice pub, it's 3 storey I think IIRC, they do some nice foodage in there too.

Only thing with the Botel was that I HATED the little square pillows, both of robs seemed better than mine so i think he nicked one of mine when I wasnt looking

ive been twice now, each time we couldnt get a hotel in smack bang in the city centre but its a small city though and each time we were 1/2 hour walk to the centre.
avoid buying your green at places like the grasshopper, if your willing to hop on a tram for high quality stuff i can direct you to a site that has loads of info and reviews on all the coffeeshops in amsterdam.
as long as you dont mind whats probably worse than british weather and push bikes then you will love amsterdam, beer, women and the nightclubs/bars are all 5* out there aswell

yesh deffo dont buy fro the grasshopper its well exp! The British Bulldog (is i?) Up in the nort of the city is much better and cheaper... or cafe baba is pretty cheap as well! And very strong good stuff
