I think the only thing we have going for us is the North, Sea (oil & fishing) which are both scarce resources. Perhpas our tourist industry and erm whisky and kilts

Not similar in any way whatsoever other than the fact they have a similar shortened name.
They're putting the break up of the union to a referendum in 2009 anyway hopefully folk will have bucked up their ideas by then. They've only won 1 more seat so we'll either have another co-allition or a minority government.

They are probably just saying that because there pro labour anyway, like the sun newspaper line their pockets & put down every other party.
Shipbuilding is for the mod because they basically shut everything else down. England make dumb-witted decisions for Scotland without even thinking them through, like the proposal to close Faslane. And what about iraq, sending our boys to fight bush's war on oil. This new multi-billion defence thing - do we want/need to be part of that??
Im not pro SNP btw, or voted for them im just saying it may no be all that bad to make some decisons locally.

Nah, even if they did, they wouldn't have the majority, they wont have full control.
It will turn out that without any of the rebates and shite like that we get from Westminster, taxes will shoot up to make up for it. Its also going to be breaking the most successful union in the world.
I reckon most of the people who voted SNP just thought everything would be the same, except Scotland would be Independent.
The thing i don't know is, when the union is broken, will all my birth certificate, passport etc have to be changed, as it says I'm a British citizen?
