off Astra Owners Club

it had to happen at some point:

gumball is very entertaining, but essentially wreckless insanity, considering what it promotes. Wonder if it will be the end of it (or at least as we know it).

Having an accident and killing someone is one thing, doing that and driving off is off the scale. Idiots, hope they are banged up for good. Probably will be the end of the Gumball now and tbh some of the driving you see is idiotic.

They think as they have silly amounts of money no1 esle matters which is why they think it is their right to race on public roads indangering peoples lives.

TBH the Guimball was liked by everyone, but why? If i posted a vid of me racing at 100mph on public roads everyone would call me a cunt, so why is it alright for them to race at silly speeds on public roads?

The fact they tried to get away proves that they thought nothing of the fella or his missus in the golf, they probably thought if they gave the police a few $$$$$ they'd get away with it, fucking tossers. I hope they get life imprisonment.

From the official site....

quote:
Gumball 3000 is very saddened to announce a road accident which occurred yesterday, May 2nd, involving a participating vehicle and a local vehicle in Macedonia. Exact details are still filtering through, but below are the facts as of midday May 3rd 2007 issued by the Macedonian authorities.

An adult Macedonian male aged 67 died in hospital from a heart attack following the incident where the two cars collided. The participants in the rally were held in custody last night with a preliminary court judgement expected today.

Organisers of the rally would like to express its deepest condolences to the family of the victim for this tragic accident.

Maximillion Cooper, founder of the Rally says: "It is with extreme sadness I have to make an announcement of this nature in the events nine year history. The event is organised with each local authorities support and permission, and drivers are under strict stipulation to abide by the laws and road regulations of the country they are driving through. It is extremely sad for this unfortunate accident to have occurred. I am informed that the incident was reported immediately by the drivers. Both drivers are extremely traumatised by this occurrence."

Fucking badgers. Trying to flee the country, honestly?

They are driving to Bratislava to thank the fans that have traveled from so far. They will make a further statement at 10.00GMT”. but still no word from Max…

Problem its got too big now, it used ot be great but now it attracts the young hoons with loads of money and flash cars.
It used to be about a load of toffs and friends driving across europe for fun but now its a commercialised race. A few years ago, you had a 2CV, camper van, ice cream van etc etc but all you see now is top spec supercars which is all well and good but theres no spirit as such just foot down and lets see how fast we can go for 3000 miles.

No idea.

But hey....the car cost ££££....it costs £28k to enter....

If I had that sort of disposable money, I'd have a 'get out' plan to cover this sort of shite.....
