Thinking about getting a sport for my next car when iv got my years no claims... Is there alot of difference in the 1.4 and 1.6? As in would it be worth the extra few hundred on my insurance?

i always thought 1.4 and 1.6 sport had all the same luxurys and same engine apart from the 1.6 being 200cc more and obviously having more power.

Can get AC and ABS on the 1.4's.

Also Passenger Airbag is a feature i've only seen on some 1.6 Corsas!!

Just the 200cc. Yes, it's worth the extra on your insurance, they're so much more tunable.

I also heard this. Was robin I think. He had a 1.4 which had more BHP than a 1.6 but the 1.6 was still quicker?

I don't think it'd be quicker, the 1.4 responds better to mods for some reason, but the extra torque of the 1.6 makes a faster/better drive all round, so I hear.

Engines practically the same as well. From recollection, the blocks are the same, its the stroke thats different.

1.6 16v has got Tigra Dial surrounds as ojc said. 1.4 16v has the flat dials.

1.6 has bags more torque!!

1.4 has 236mm brakes. (fitted to SXi, SRi etc as well).

1.6 has 256mm brakes (21mm, not the 24mm of 2.0 16v brakes).

1.4 doesn't respond any better to aftermarket tuning. They both respond just as well, but the 1.6 will always have more torque.

My 1.4 had 165/65/14 tyres, im unsure what the 1.6's had as standard.
