Right, i know i am an idiot for doing this, and it has pissed me off that i thought i could trust the person, so no comments on that please

a mate of mine wanted to buy some alloys off me, and as he was a mate i said he could have them and give me the money when he has it, this was in october and since then ive had excuse after exucse to not get the money back

Im annoyed now so wondering if i have anyway of getting small claims involved or anything like that, im guessing not but its worth asking

the amount is £380 so its not an amount to just let go,

i would have the wheels back off him but he has buckled one so they are effectively useless now

any ideas anyone?

Chain his foot to a pipe in the corner of a room & give him a saw. Then lie down in the middle of the room & pretend to be dead

Stay like this untill he either cits his leg off (which you can then sell on ebay) or keep him there untill he gets paid next & then nivck his bank card & his pin number & go withdraw the cash yourself

Then break his leg & give him a wheel chair with a buckled wheel

Oh, you might want to get a decent lawyer as well

ive already asked to take small amounts when his wages come through just to get the money back,

the wheels are buckled, mb italias refurbished in shadow silver, so tbh there not going to sell with one damaged

ive txt him numerous times in the last week, had no reply at all from him,

just keep gettin bullshit about him getting a loan, which he said was paid in last wednesday, but still i have no money

i may actually go round to his and speak to his parents about it, i know its low and i would never normally do it but that may put some pressure on him,

not had time to go round when he's in yet, may do that tomoro

i know with the my word against his, i basically need to save a txt from him if he ever replies,

alot of our friends know he owes me the money but i doubt that would stand up

i think the best chance of me getting my money back is by going to see him, or his mum or dad, and let them know why im there

Lent a mate a sat nav to get backup to Sheffield. Hes sending it tommorow (Oh how many times I've heard that)

Guilt trips are a good place to start, Court, Damage, Cuntish behaviour is the complete wrong place to start. As said above, Little but often seems like the best option....

Or if he says "I'll have it soon" just say "Good, Can i take your mobile until soon happens, That way we know it will" replacing mobile with something he bumbs, Works well with alot of my mates and they seem to give stuff back quicker

haha i know, ive been sound with him for months, regular contact, see him reasonably often, let him sort himself out when he was unemployed, told him to give it back when he was working, when he got his loan, etc

ive sorted my finances out and in effect have written the debt off as a bad debt (yes im training to be an accountant) lol but thats not the point its alot of money to a student

you would win in small claims court, for the simple fact he has the wheels.

courts usually look at a case from an objective point of view in civil cases, meening any reasonable person would assume if you gave him the wheels he would be givining you money.

But speaking to his parents would be the best way to go i think.

Cant be bothered Reading through the whole page.

However 1 thing i have learnt is you NEVER Lend your friends a considerable amount of money unless you are prepared to say either goodbye to the money or your friends, My friends owe me around £700 between them today and i know for a fact atleast half of them wont have the money, And instead of explaining why they will try and avoid you, and because they are your friend you cant realy threaten them without pissing them off and losing them as mates, It's a no win Situation, If your going to Lend somebody money/or sell them items, i always only lend them upto 50% of their weekly paid amount untill payday and then i am on their doorstep nice and early to collect.I've frog marched a couple of people to the bank on a couple of occassions too

My advice to you is to tell him to make a gesture and pay off what he can if he doesnt have all the money now and tell him to pay it in portion's, that usually works, it's not ideal but atleast you get your money in the end, and you know not to do him a 'borrow' again!
