with their stupidity. following the corsa VXR test drive thread last week I hate them even more now.

the 1.8 sri went in today as the AFM had brought up the EM light. knew it was the AFM as I had already done a diagnostic test at Vsport. only took it to vaux as it was under warranty. dropped it off at 9.30am. Tell them what the fault is.

they say 'we will start on it asap'
I say ' I need the car back for 3.30pm'
they say 'thats fine'

get a phonecall at 3.30 to say they are just on a test drive. so I go down to get the car and find they have not fixed it, infact they blame the fault on the car needing an ABS recall fault fixing and they claim to have sorted the fault and that it wasnt the AFM. but they had fixed it. they continue to try and sell me some brake pads fitted at a stupidly inflated price, I leave to go home.

on the way home the EM light comes on, check to see if the AFM had been changed (I had marked it) I ring them and ask why they havnt changed the AFM, they reply there was nothing wrong with it, I ask how long does the ABS recall take, they reply 'about 45 mins'.

so in total they had the car for over 6 hours, fixed a fault with the ABS that had already been fixed (looked in the service book when I got home, they had already carried out the ABS recall on the car less than 12 months ago! ) ignored the AFM fault and somehow managed to use nearly 1/4 a tank of fuel during a test drive. I go back, ask them for the results of the diagnostic test, there in black and white, an AFM fault, even with an advisory note that the AFM isnt serviceable and to chang the AFM

they say they need the car booked in for at least a whole day for the AFM and try and fob me off. I tell them its a 5 min job they replace it in 10.

bunch of useless gimps

if they do thats laughable ad they shouldnt be a dealership, we have mastertechs who are the bollocks in all fairness, and they normal techs are good as well, if theres something they dont know, it goes to Audi Technical, we would never phone another garage, let alone a non franchise one

well, a mate works there and he gave my number to the lads in the workshop on a few occasions, mainly when they had cars with engine conversions with wiring problems and problems with modded cars. they usually ring us a few times a month to ask stuff

but think of the benefits in helping them, they will gladly take your car off you all day, use up your petrol, not fix it and give it back with an oily steering wheel

my dad works for the local vx dealer (one of only 2 vauxhall centres of excellance in the uk, used to fix issues other dealers cant) there work is nothing much at write home about most of the mechanics are just very young lads with little or no experience, perhaps a couple of older guys who are very good but thats it. They did however do my abs wireing recall today so there is less chance of my car going on fire!
