what mileage would be considered high? (even with SH)

Make sure camblet has been done for high milers, most people swap the water pump for ones with metal impellers as the standard ones are plastic and prone to breaking. Check audi-sport.net for loads of info.

BTW, does it matter if it has FSH, camblet done properly and high mileage? what kind of mileage would be too high to consider...?

Personally i'd always go for as low as possible, so it depends on your budget really.

Ask if coil packs have been replaced, MAF's are prone to failure, definately make sure the cam belt has been done with the replaced metal water pump impellor.

I've seen golf 1.8t's with 150k on them, i wouldn't look at one with over 80k miles though.
